Rooted in traditional Ashtanga practice, the Cotton Yoga Rug provides a naturally textured surface that moves with you through heat, sweat, and dynamic flow. Its woven cotton design delivers dependable traction, making it a favorite among practitioners who appreciate a more organic, grounded feel. Lightweight yet sturdy, it’s equally at home in the studio, on the beach, or outdoors on uneven ground.

Handwoven from durable cotton, this rug blends comfort with structure. The breathable fibers help absorb moisture, while the long, supportive weave offers enough stability for standing postures, balancing work, and seated shapes. Designed for yogis who prefer a minimalist, natural practice space, it brings the simplicity of traditional materials into modern movement.

For over 30 years, Hugger Mugger has been trusted by teachers to craft thoughtful, long-lasting yoga props. This Cotton Yoga Rug carries forward that legacy—versatile, authentic, and made to support your practice wherever it leads.

Avery ★★★★★

After a sweaty session, this rug stays put and soaks up moisture way better than my old mat towel. The texture gives just enough grip for downward dog without sticking to my skin.

John ★★★★★

The woven cotton grips my mat perfectly even when I’m dripping sweat halfway through a hot vinyasa. It’s also held up great after three machine washes with zero fraying.

George W. ★★★★★

I’ve been using this rug for a few weeks now and it’s completely changed my practice—the woven cotton really grips even when I’m sweating through a hot flow. It stays put and doesn’t bunch up, which was my biggest frustration with other towels. Exactly the stable, natural surface I was hoping for.
